My current study in working with horses at liberty, not only enhances my understanding of horses beyond even my experience of communication so far but it furthers my comprehension of the power we feel is necessary to have over another being.
I'm constantly learning how to ask without need. To speak and hear 'no thanks' without sending or receiving it personally and to listen to the feedback I'm priveleged to experience. Letting go is a constant process and horses, above all, are masters of the art of illustration in this respect. It's refreshing for horse and human and offers both the chance to be more gentle and confident.
